Here you will find the current call for entries of the Karl Ziegler Award 2025.

The closing date for applications is 1 March 2025.

Karl Ziegler Award

One purpose of the Karl Ziegler Foundation is to promote chemists by awarding scholarships, preferably to younger people. To fulfil this purpose, the foundation awards the Karl Ziegler Prize every two years. The prize enables the leaders of a junior research group to finance a postdoctoral position with 2500.00 euros per month. The prize is endowed with a total of 30,000.00 euros and is paid out monthly.

Research projects in the field of Karl Ziegler are eligible for funding, which includes in particular organometallic and inorganic chemistry, organic and applied chemistry as well as polymer chemistry and catalysis. The junior research group leader can fill the postdoc position freely. The applicant must not yet hold a W2 professorship or higher. The foundation must be mentioned as a sponsor in all publications resulting from this project (publications, lectures, poster contributions, etc.).
